Goonj initiated the Grassroots Fellowship in 2019 to provide capacity-building and mentorship to rural youth. During the year-long program, fellows engage in various development initiatives in rural areas across India. The primary objective of the fellowship is to empower rural youth with the skills and confidence to work and learn in their respective villages and towns, rather than being compelled to migrate to cities out of desperation.
